The Color Room & Websters Pages

Hi There!
Spring is here in Australia & that makes me so happy!! The sun has been shining for the whole weekend & we still have beautiful weather forcast for the next couple of days!! Sunshine always puts me in a better mood & makes me smile!

I have had a play at a few more challenges. I know I am a bit if a challenge addict! Challenges are such a great starting point for me whether it is a sketch, colour or product challenge I just find it so much easier to get started!

This page was created for The Color Room palette #126

I luv this photo of my Dad & Evie. It was taken at my Brother's wedding in March this year. I added some Kraft paper to the palette & went with more of a vintage combination of the colours. I have used Prima Fairy Belle papers
I luv this Prima wooden clock & Prima butterfly. The flowers are a mix of Prima & Green Tara

This next page is for the Websters Pages trendy challenge. I chose to use chevron & ombre.
This is Kayla & Hunter sitting in the ferris wheel at The Beachouse in Glenelg SA. I have used Websters Pages Girl Land & Prima flowers
This chippie is from 2 Crafty. It was a longer title that I chopped up. I like using Ombre on chipboard at the moment. It just seems to add a bit more depth to it!

It's the start of the month so that means a whole lotta new challenges!! I'm sure I will be back soon LOL!

Thanks for looking!
Cheers

Imaginarium Designs Chipboard Love Cherish Adore

Have you been hearing alot about Ombre lately?? Ombre seems to be THE next big thing in fashion & scrapbooking trends. A lot of manufacturers have been showcasing Ombre trends & techniques. What is Ombre? Basically it is different tones or colours that shade into each other. I have used Ombre to alter the gorgeous Imaginarium Designs chipboard title Love Cherish Adore. Here is a quick little step by step on how to get THE look of the season!

First start by painting your title with gesso. This gives it a good base & stops your ink colours from seeping into the chipboard.

Choose 3 colours of inks, paints, mists or pan pastels that compliment each other. I chose pink (top shade) lilac (middle shade) & yellow (bottom shade)You will need a light & dark shade of your top & bottom colour. EG I have used a light pink, a dark pink, a light yellow & a dark yellow.

I used a combination of pan pastels & inks. Sassy Scrapper has a gorgeous range of Prima Ingvild Bolme chalk fluid edgers here or Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Inks here which are perfect to use!

Ink the top of 'Love' with a light pink going 3/4's of the way down as you can see in the picture. Ink the remaining 1/4 with lilac.

Ink all of 'Cherish' with lilac

Ink the top 1/4 of 'Adore' with lilac. Ink the remaining 3/4's with light yellow.

Use the dark pink & ink half way over the light pink so now you have 3 colours on 'Love' Dark pink, Light pink the Lilac

Use the dark yellow & hink half way over the light yellow so now you have 3 colours on 'Adore' Lilac, Light Yellow & Dark Yellow

Cover all 3 words in some Glimmer Glam or Glossy Accents for a nice shimmer finish

Once Upon A Sketch

Hi There!

I have had a chance to play over at Once Upon A Sketch for the August challenge. The theme this month is your favourite season. I chose Winter because I like to become a hermit & sit on top of my central heating vent, curl up on the couch & read & of course it's always a good chance to scrap more!

This is my page
I have used more of my stash!! This is an old collection of Bo Bunny papers Midnight Frost that I had bought intending to scrap some snow pics! I luv the navy blue & plum purple colour combo! I decided to keep the chippies simple & painted them with gesso then covered them in fine glitter so that they all sparkled like snow!
My journalling was handwritten in white pen but it is kind of hard to see in the photo. It reads "Kayla you really loved playing at the snow. I loved watching you laugh as you went down the toboggan run. We also made a snowman & had a snow fight!" 2010
The large bloom is a beautiful velver flower by Green Tara. It is so luscious & pretty! The lattice design is my new Cheery Lynn French lattice die. Thankyou to the lovely Steph Devlin for letting me know which die she was using. I had been crushing on it for ages & trying to find one XX
The flourish chippies is Dusty Attic. This was actually birds on a branch but I chopped it up so that it looked more like a flourish. the scallop circle chippie is from 2 crafty
I used some white versa colour ink & some honeycomb mesh to create the dots & splashed some gesso around the page.
The cogs were from Fern Laser design & all the other blooms & leaves are Prima (you can see some of the  journalling on this pic!)

This is Nadia's sketch

My Creative Scrapbook July Reveal Part 2 & a chance to win

Hi There!

I'm back with the Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook today but before I show you my pages & card I wanted to share with you a chance to win some new Carta Bella products!!!!
Head on over to the My Creative Scrapbook blog for details on how to win this
or

These papers are the brand new releases for Carta Bella & there are 5 packs to be won!

This is the Main kit

So here are a few pages I created using the Main kit which features Carta Bella Beautiful Moments, Prima flowers & trinkets, a chipboard frame & HEAPS more!

I have used 2 of my new Martha Stewart punches on this one & layered lots of fussy cut pieces. The kit also has some Carta Bella stickers & alphas
This is Kayla with her friend Quinn. I luv this pic of the girls!

The colours in this kit are Beige, Black, Red & Pink so you can get lots of different looks out of the 1 kit! The large paper doily in the kit is so pretty!

This is Hunter holding little Ryder. Ryder is 4 months old already! I used Candy Apple Red glimmermist & a Prima mask on the background. There will be a little tutorial during the month on how I altered the chipboard frame

Lastly I created a unisex card for my card stash! I used some Kraft cardboard as the base & created a the template by using one of the Prima packages that was in the kit. I simply folded the cardstock in half & traced the template onto it & cut it out. The lace & bling are also part of the kit!

& because I still get super excited whenever I am featured I have to share that my  Birthday Girls page I showed a couple of posts back was featured on the Websters Ning site!

One more thing. My incredibly sweet friend Nelle has just started a blog. Pop on over & say Hi to her here!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

My Creative Scrapbook July Reveal Part 1

Hi There!

So it's 4 days into school holidays in Victoria at the moment. How are all the Vic Mum's going?? I am definately enjoying not having to run around like a nut case in the morning but I am starting to lose a little patience at the kids already. If they ask me one more time can they have something to eat I think I will scream!! Seriously I think I should worm them, they just don't stop eating all day! We haven't done much this week but next week we will head to Mt Baw Baw for a day & have a few play dates. hopefully that keeps the hungry little hippos at bay!

Anyway it is reveal day at My Creative Scrapbook YAY! Today I will show you my projects I created using the Album Kit. It was filled with Websters Pages 'In Love' so it was a perfect chance to scrap MORE wedding pics!

The embellies in this kit are awesome. I absolutely LOVED the Prima trinkets. There was also a gorgeous scroll chippie & some Teresa Collins Blingage glitter which was lots of fun to play with! Throughout the month I will have a tutuorial using the Teresa Collins Blingage glitter

I luv this pic of me & my SIL Amanda. She is like the Sister I never had! I am really so lucky that my Brother married such a great girl (he is SUPER lucky to have her LOL!)

This gorgeous Red car is Amanda's Dad's car that he lovingly restored. He had 2 friends in his car club with the same cars (different colours) take us girls to the wedding ceremony.
I have used some Prima packaging on this page. To alter the chippie I just painted it black & added some modge podge once the paint dried. While the modge podge was still wet I sprinkled the gine glitter all over the chippie

I will back soon to share the Main kit with you!
