The Color Room & Bird Is The Word

Hi There!

Well palette #130 over at The Color Room was just too pretty to ignore this week! The palette is a gorgoeus whitwashed pink theme. I have so much pink in my stash it was such an easy page to put together! I also combined this with the Bird is the Word challenge which is 'touch'. I put this in my title 'As sweet as sugar with a touch of spice'
This pretty much sums up my little Evie Jools! She is so gorgeous & funny & her smile & big blue eyes melt your heart but she definately has that touch of 'spice' to her personality! She is such a little bully to her Big Brother & Sister & she is so strong willed!

All of the papers were oldies from my stash (some were so old that they were the first collections I had ever purchased!)
It is mostly a mix of Kaisercraft of 4 different collections & Glitz Design from 2 different collections

The large pink flower & the small white roses are Green Tara. I love these flowers they are so pretty & go with everything
The other flowers are new Prima
A bit of a close up of the punchwork & Prima Junkyard finding zipper

I have used the new Prima flourish mask with some texture paste for a bit of dimension. The alphas are a mix of Prima & Websters Pages

I also used the new Prima Donna Downet polka dot mask with some texture paste

Here is the Color Room palette

I have used Prima Tea Thyme & a Prima clock

The dusty pink flower is Prima. The others are all Green Tara

The chipboard fence is Dusty Attic. I have just smudged some gesso for a shabby look

Shabby Chic goodness for Bird is The Word

Hi There!

Yay it is school holidays now in Victoria & the sun is shining (I say Yay now lets see at the end of 2 weeks if I still feel the same way LOL!)

I have had a play over at Bird Is The Word. The word is 'spirit'
The title is a bit tongue in cheek as I often describe my little  Evie Jools personality as 'Full of Spirit' AKA cheeky monkey!
I finally took the chance to lash out & buy some new Prima that was on my wish list. I had been drooling over the nrew resins, zips & the Tea Thyme collection which I used on this page
The flowers are all Prima & are a mix of old & new product

A closeup of one of the smaller resins & the junkyard finding zip

My fav resin. I think this one is just so sweet!

Another flower cluster of old & new Prima flowers

This page was just for fun. I have used the GORGEOUS September LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook. thsi was full of Prima Romance Novel & the new wooden Prima doors & clocks which I thought were pretty cool!

I tried to embrace the dark grungy colours of this collection & still make it look girl. This pic is my fav of Kayla & I. it was taken at her kinder earlier this year for Mothers Day
The new Prima wooden clock with some Romance Novel blooms. The die is MFT

some Prima wooden tickets & buttons

Another junkyard finding zipper & the alphas are Prima Romance Novel too
Thanks for looking!

A challenge or 3!

Hi There!

I have played along with a couple more challenges. The first LO is a combination of Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch #2 & Bird is the Word. Teh word is 'heart'. This is the skecth

& my take on the sketch (I posted this LO in my last blog post for the Graphic 45 design team call)
I have used the gorgeous February Limited Edition MCS kit which was full of the romantic Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection

A close up of some Prima goodness on the page!
The flowers & bird cage are fussy cut. The masking was done using some honeycomb mesh & some versa ink in Laurel Leaf
Some hand stitching & more prima flowers

I have used a few different meduims to give  this chipboard scroll circle a distressed look. Firstly I painted it with gesso, then once dried & painted some acrylic antique white painte all over. Once dried I roughly inked the edges in versa colour ink pinecone. I then used olive ink & roughly smudges colour unevenly aroun the circle. Then get some texture paste on your finger & roughly smudge the paste where you would added texture. Once dry dab your pinecone ink pad on top of the smudges of texture paste. Finish off by using a coat of Tim Holtz Ranger Crackle Paint in Rock Candy. Use a heat gun to help make the texture past bubble & assist crackling!

This next project is my entry for the Websters Pages February Challenge. the challenge was to use sparklers on my page. Thanks so much to Heike at Scrapz.Biz for supplying me with some pretty sparklers!
I have used Websters Pages Ladies & gents & Csountry Estate, Websters pretty petal, Websters sparkler
The mirror folds down to reveal some journalling

The black lace border is a Websters Pages digital brush printed onto a transparent sheet & then fussy cut

Thanks for looking!

Ooh La La!!

Bonjour!

My LSS just got a big Kaisercraft order. Although the 'Bonjour' collection has been out for a little while I couldn't resist the precious pastel shabby chic colours & the butterfly & Eiffel tower motiffs were just too cute! I was lucky enough to travel to France in 1998. The views from the top of the Eiffel tower are so incredible!! I would LUV to go back one day!

I decided to have a crack at the Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch Februray #1 for the first time & combined this challenge with the new word challenge over at Bird is the Word. This is the sketch
And my take on the sketch
I cut out the fram on the specialty paper & fussy cut around the Eiffel tower

The new word at BITW is 'journey' which I used in the title 'Enjoy the journey'. I have used Prima alphas

The pink roses are Kaisercraft. The fern leaves are Green Tara which I white washed then added some fine glitter. I got these both at my LSS Scrapbook Sinners

I have created lots of different layers using different patterned paper (all Bonjour collection) & using lace & trims. The die cut is from a MFT die scalloped circle

Thanks for looking!

Bird is the Word & MCS June challenge

Hi There!
Bird is the Word latest prompt is - Amazing. I have put together a LO of my baby girl Evie.
Some close Ups

Ok so I have a new Love in my life! I have recently stumbled upon Florabella Photoshop actions. I have purchased the Vintage & Black & White actions. I think they are FAB!! I love that u can change the look of a photo with the click of a button. I used the vintage summerII action on this photo which gives a soft sepia wash but also creates warm colours to really pop.
I have used a Kraft cardstock background & sprayed & splashed some Tourquise Glimmer Mist on it. I then stamped a script stamp & a medium & large butterfly stamp randomly around some of the edges in a stampin up ink chocolate chip.

I used the Bo Bunny 'Gabrielle' collection paper & Prima paper  (I forget which one I think Madeline??) I also used some chipboard butterflys in the Bo Bunny 'Gabrielle' collection.

The flowers are mostly Prima, the orange roses are Kaisercraft. The rub on flourish is Prima

The journalling & part of the title was done with a Dymo labeller. To get the white creases I just scrunched the strips in a ball & smoothed it back out to give a worn look. To create the Amazing title I used Kaisercraft plain chipboard letters, painted them white, covered them in dimensional magic then used a superfine glitter over the top. The dimensional magic acts as an adhesive for the glitter. This is a cheap way to create titles that match your LO perfectly!

I have also created a LO for the June challenge at MCS. The challenge is to use a border punch. Here is my interpretation.......
Some close ups

I'm still not real sure that I like this LO. It is a little bit different to what I usually do. I found these papers a bit hard to work with even though the papers are pretty there was nothing much to fussy cut out which is what I love to do!

I have used a border punch in a number of ways in this LO. I have used a scalloped punch on the photo mat. I used the scallop punch again to layer the scallops as a point of interest. I have used a 2 kinds of borders to use as a trim. I have used a floral border as a ruffle to place around a sticker & I have used 2 kind of borders on the edge of my rosettes to give them a different shape!

All paper & stickers are from the June MCS main kit- Basic Grey 'Sweet threads'. The kfrat envelope is by Maya Road which I have covered with paper

PHEW! Long post tonight LOL!

As always Thanks for looking & thanx so much for ur kind words. They put a smile on my face!
Cheers!
